Greezy

Steez

For the Greezy Steez series, we leveraged some visual and thematic tropes from the hip-hop genre to give each campaign an absurdist spin. Although completed by Matt during his tenure at VICE, this project still embodies the design ethic we employ at Sentient today.

For the first event, we took the already over-the-top “mix-tape-cover” aesthetic to a whole new level of absurdity. Iced-out burgers, photoshopped fries, and dollar $ign$ wherever necessary. Or un-necessary for that matter. The result is something both humorous and engaging at once.

For the second event we took to playing with the stereotype of “guns, fast cars & conflict” associated with the genre. However, we decided to present that idea as if it were 1986. The 2 Greezy 2 Steezy subhead was inspired by the Fast and Furious sequel, but the overall look is much more Big Trouble In Little China.
